Can someone help me with this question. I remember when Chaz lost his dear dog to heat exhaustion and he was left with the two remaining dogs. So now he has three dogs that they call puppies. What are these dogs? New ones? and what happened to the last two older dogs? They are all labs and sure cute. I am wondering because I was so sorry about his dog he lost and am always wondering how he is getting on with his "family".

Chaz lost Ella last June. He was left with Spencer and Hunter, whom he still has. Several months ago, he got two Yellow Lab pups, Bella and Riley, who are currently 6 months old, so he's got four dogs altogether. I can't remember how it goes, but there is some relation of Bella and Riley to the others - I think it's on the sire's side. He always referred to the older ones as his "Angels", and while I'm sure the little ones have "angel status" with him, I think he calls them "the puppies" to differentiate the young ones from the older ones because they are still in fact puppies. And really, it could be a term of endearment for all of them when he collectively calls them all "the puppies". I know I sometimes call my dog puppy type names (Puppy, Puppypie, Pup, etc) and he's over 2 yrs. old.

Exactly. To add, when he got the 2 female pups, he also had a third, ruby, but ruby was for friends in PA. So she stayed with him until he flew back east. Also his assistant got a female of the same litter...charlie. He uses the term puppies and angels interchangeable when referring to all his dogs. Hopes this helps. Oh and the connection is the new pups are from the same mom and dad of the older ones. Riley is named after the dad who went missing shortly after Ella's death.

And to make it even more confusing for you, the two young female "puppies" are now about six months old and growing fast so they're almost as big as their older brothers. When they're on the set and sprawled around each other it's sometimes difficult to tell which are the younger ones and which are the older ones! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

ETA: A little help: Puppy Bella wears a pink collar, puppy Riley wears a purple collar.

I don't understand why he has to bring them on air. Not professional.

Still wonder why Chaz never got a Chocolate Lab, only Yellow and Black. It it were me, I would complete the 'Lab Trifecta' and have one in all three colors. 8)

I love that he brings them on air. I prefer someone who is a kind gentle animal lover and leave the professionalism to a place it matters.
