I don't understand the topic or the subject line. What makes it charming or not? Millions of Americans own guns, some happen to be celebrities. So what?

Probably semi sarcastic as some find Selleck charming.

There's been a public shooting almost every day since last week and rgat doesn't take into the private shootings. {#emotions_dlg.blink}

Once again, guns don't kill people... people with guns kill people. If a person owns a gun, they need to be a responsible owner and not leave access to children or vandals or friends or family or whatever. It is a huge responsibility that some don't take seriously. Again, I consider myself not that dumb, and I don't understand the connection of the celebrities? Most of these shootings are happening by mentally disturbed individuals that want to end their own lives, but take others down with them. There is a big difference between arming yourself for protection, and being in possession of weapons with the intent to kill. JMO.

People with guns need to be responsible - why yes they do.

For instance, shooting into a darkened room or closet and finding out you killed your child.

Shooting an unarmed trick or treater walking away from your door because you 'felt threatened.'

Not locking your fire arm or stowing it safely whereas children get hold of it and shoots a playmate.

People have to shoot a gun in most cases for it to go off..

Guns kill people.

You forgot to mention feeling attacked because someone throws popcorn at you, and you have to shoot to kill to protect yourself in a public movie theatre.

I still say, a gun on it's own is just a piece of metal, art even.... I dated a police officer... watched him clean his gun hundreds of times. He treated it with respect, and so did I. It never killed anyone when it was sitting on the coffee table before he put it away. It never killed anyone sitting on his nightstand.... but if someone had broken into our home, I guarantee it could have killed someone very quickly. Guns aren't the problem, the people who have access to them and use them are the problem.

No jules, I didn't forget those two instances, I purposely left them out.

As far as leaving a gun unattended on a coffee table or night table is not being responsible.

Easy access to guns is irresponsible too. Just because you can own a gun doesn't mean you are responsible or sane enough to own a gun.

In my State it's legal for a teen to have a hunting weapon but illegal to buy a pack of cigarettes.

Actually a gun without ammunition can kill no one, unless you bash someone's head in with it. People who collect guns never keep shells in them. If you load a gun it is with. Intent to shoot.

Most of what we've been discussing is about loaded weapons.
