Charities wasting our donations

DH and I give a little now and then to our choice of charities. As a result we are inundated with requests from dozens of other charities. One of them a Veterans' charity sent us a letter within a couple of days asking for more.

The biggest gripe we have with them is the money they waste on gifts to encourage us to give. T-shirts, tote bags, address labels, notepads, callendars -etc. etc. We would rather they spend the money on the veterans and/or children we gave money to.
