If you want to put a stop to them asking you, just let them know you have a limited amount of money for charitable donations and that you have causes that are important to you that you prefer to give to.  Everyone has their own causes that are important to them and these ladies should understand that.

I have had two and give to the local branch of each here in my town every month.  Once the decision was made which two to donate then I never felt any guilt saying no to others.  Not just at Christmas for giving, since people go hungry all year long.

For some reason so many charity's know that you give to others so they contact you as well.

Beckyb, I'd love to be able to give to anyone that asks but it's just not possible. 😕😕😕

The charitable donation requests happen to me too.  I say no, I already have my contributions selected for the year.

say NoThank you

don't go into explanations of why or why not no matter how noble they may be , no need to offer your explanations

I read once something to use the DEAR  defend, explain, argue, reason

or something along those lines about having to explain why you don't want to do X

I say that I've already promised what I can give to the causes I already support, but recognize them for the time and effort they're putting in for their cause.

As someone who has been involved in fundraising in the past....the worst thing is to be ignored.  The second worse thing is to have someone give you the run-around, and then fail to make a donation before your fundraising deadline.  Just be honest.

yes...I was selling raffle tickets once, and the woman said to me..."I'll buy one of yours, if you'll buy one of mine"

We did an even exchange.
