Chanukah presents

Just wondering if any of our Jewish people here got presents when younger. I don't remember any from my parents. In Sunday School we traded anything for 25 cents. I recall I got a ceramic animal and I gave a mechanical pencil.. Can't buy much for a quarter now. Also do you give your children a present every night?
