Has anybody ever painted with chalk paint, was it easy to do?

I've never used any type of chalk paint but always see people on the web often raving about Annie Sloan.

The Home forum ladies have used chalk paint and seem to love it. I have a rocking chair that I want to paint with chalk paint. Happy Housewife used chalk paint from Home Depot and said it was easy to use. It was less expensive than the Annie Sloan chalk paint.

I've heard that chalk paint adheres to almost everything. But, I'm going to go over to Home Forum, just to make sure. Thanks for the reminder!

Interesting. I didn't realize plaster of paris was the magic ingredient. Did you mix it half and half? I found a large, ornate headboard that just appealed to my sometimes tacky taste and wanted to try the AS paints on it.

I'll look this upSmile

Yes! Many times. I've done 9 bedroom sets (headboards, dressers, bureaus and mirrors), sideboards, side chairs and tables in chalk paint.

I love it because you don't need to sand, (just clean) the surfaces.

The bedrooms sets were all older (circa early 1900's), some in veneers, some with water marks and other stains or sunlight discolorations.

All beautiful now. Beautiful colors.

Easy to work with and a little goes a long way.

You might do a search. We recently had an extensive discussion on the subject.
