As a Buyer in my mid-20's, my name was picked from a fish bowl at a trade show. I won a 2-week all expenses paid trip to Maui for two. Very nice.

@JFD12

This was in 1964, when the Beatles visited New Orleans on a concert tour.  A local radio station held a contest where the Beatles fans sent in postcards and they drew a card every few hours.  You had 1 minute to call in if you heard your name.  The station # was 690, so there were 69 seats.  The concert was in a stadium, but these seats were two rows of folding chairs down on the field right in front of the stage.

I got the bright idea to decorate regular post cards with psychedelic designs using fluorescent markers to make our cards stand out from the others.  (It was the 60s!) Four or five of us decorated  LOTS of postcards and sent them in.  Then we took turns listening to the radio so we wouldn't miss our names.  It worked well, and three of us won seats to the concert.  It was unforgettable.

It all started winning a huge pumpkin in grade school that I had to carry home on my head about 5 blocks.

I won 100.00 playing at the casino. My boss took me and gave me 50.00 cash so I came out ahead on that one.

I put my name in a drawing at a store Jones before it changed to Macy's and won 250.00 credit to buy any clothes I wanted. That was the best!

Also won at a work raffle for prizes at Christmas.

I guess I did alright!
