We got a letter in mail to log in online to fill out the census last week & got on Monday another notice with the same code.

It took all of 5 minutes online.

Re: Census 2020?

[ Edited ]

@wonderfulworld  Census 2020 had not been printed and released a "couple of months ago" so the 10 pages you completed and returned certainly were not from the Census Bureau.

If the pages were completed were early this year (2020), I would guess it was a political questionnaire. May have been from someone in your State or a national candidate.

Please be careful before filling in personal information and returning it without reading it. All kinds of companies send out mailings with questions asking for that information to add you to their bulk mailing lists and, frankly, it is not their business!

Those answers could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Know what you are filling out next time in order to keep your private life confidential.

I'm hesitant to answer questions from the government at this point, but so far have not found anything that was offensive to me.

@wonderfulworld ,

yep, that's it. The Community Census looks at aspects of the makeup of neighborhoods.

The one circulating to all now is the head count.

I did the paper version of both.

Done and submitted.

That's odd...?? Several months ago? It just came out this month.

@SilleeMee

One of the parties sent out one, for their info.

@BirkiLady , and others questioning this.

The Community Census IS from the same U. S. Census Bureau that is doing the head count, but it doesn't go to everyone.

Everyone is included in the head count.

Correction: it's called American Community Survey, not Community Census. (Found my paper/letter)

Also: @wonderfulworld , this I did online, but I did the head count on paper.

NO, it wasn't from one of the parties.

This was from the U. S. Census Bureau.  I kept the envelope, with letter printed inside.

Google American Community Survey for further info.

I wonder who came up with the whole 'invitation' nonsense... Clearly, not responding wasn't an option...

I received that invitation in the mail.  I logged onto the website and put in the pin they gave me and my name and address automatically came up.  Took about 2 minutes to complete.
