@SandySparkles  That guy is a j-e-r-k for not opening the door for you, lovely Sandy Sparkles! I genuinely think that chivalry is dead sometimes and cellphones make it worse.  Story time: years ago in my late 20's I got onto a packed bus and a guy was sitting in the aisle seat using his i-phone and he was lazy and wanted me to squeeze by or crawl over his legs to sit down in the seat next to him Smiley FrustratedSmiley Surprised.  The nerve of him!! I said, "Excuse me, may you please stand up for me?" He scoffed at me and pivoted slightly while looking at his dumb i-[hone, but I still couldn't get through- so you know what I did? I sat on his lap on purpose Smiley LOL.  He screamed and said, "Get off of me, sit over there!" I said, "I could've done just that if you let me through!"

@SportyShorty07 Welcome!🥰 I was thinking there would  be a different outcome initially, and then POW!...the punchline!!!😂😂😂 I THOROUGHLY enjoyed reading your post!😁

Not a big deal in my book and certainly not worth a second thought. You should have been watching the door too, even if your hands were full.

@CalminHeart Welcome!🥰 I appreciate your perspective!❤ I was looking ahead, but as he proceeded out the door with phone in hand looking down, he was using his body weight against the door as he was exiting, which people do, but generally allow you to pass by, or hold the door. He let go and there was literally no reaction time with my hands full as it happened so abruptly.😊

I mentioned in a previous post with another poster that I will be more mindful in the future.👍😊 I also mentioned in my opening statement that he was not OBLIGATED to, but it would have been appreciated!🥰

THANK you SO much for caring to share your perspective today!🤗

The polite thing to do would be for him to hold the door for you. It's been such a normal thing for people to do for each other. Sadly, the some people allow cell phones to remove them from reality.

@SportyShorty07 Welcome back!🥰 What he did was BEYOND rude, and even if he did not learn his lesson, his ego took a bruising that day! There are some brief negative interactions in life that we forget over the years, but I am CERTAIN he will NEVER forget that encounter!😂😂😂

THANK you SO much for revisiting and sharing another comment!🤗 It made me smile!😁

If it is not positive, why give it the time of day.  Rehashing negativity brings you down to their level.  Move on and find something positive in your life.

@CrazyDaisy Welcome back!🥰 I appreciate your perspective!❤ I thought my previous post was rather succinct, but since it is not, I will expound.😊 My simple response to your query would be, because I doubt any of these respectful, insightful responses are adversely affecting me or anyone reading or posting, negatively.😁 If at any point in the future it does so, I might consider your suggestion.😉

@Pink123  the guy had no insurance? I don't understand why insurance couldn't help your friend's daughter if she was covered. The accident wasn't her fault.

Our car was totalled in an accident and we got reimbursed for the value of the wrecked car. Something in that situation doesn't sound right. I hope none of them were injured.

Nope @teganslaw  he ran away from the accident ASAP. How can you find a runaway with no name who leaves everything??? Alot in Miami don't carry insurance.

He left the wife with 4 children right on the street on the scene.

@Pink123

I am guessing that in Miami uninsured motorist coverage is not offered? I carry it on my car, so that if I am unfortunately ever in an accident with a motorist that does not have insurance, or if the person leaves the scene then I am covered.
