Re: Cell Phone Suggestion...

My brother has a Jitterbug flip phone.  He never uses it, but has it for emergencies.  Every once in a while we test him on how to turn it on.  They have great service, including an old fashioned operator.  His is $19 a month.  Another good thing, you practically never have to charge it.

Me too!  We had AT&T when it was Cingulair which was about 20 years ago.  That's when they would charge by the minute.

We now have a family plan, myself, DH and my 88 year old dad (he has the flip phone).  We have no land line and DH and I have smart phones.

One time we were walking in the Superstition Mountains in Az. and my phone range.  It was my doctor's office calling and the connection was so clear it was amazing.

I will say though, it's not cheap.

To the OP ~ I have heard good things about the phone through AARP with good rates too.  I think Sears sells them.  Good luck!

ITA

Can't imagine what kind of customer service/billing issues there would be.

Cellular service is a set-it-forget-it time of thing.

And ATT is one of the largest, most reliable cellular service out there.

@nana59

Have you considered going to ATT Facebook page & explaining your problem to them online?  Many companies respond to social media before anything else.  Just a consideration.

@nana59

Check Tracfone on another shopping channel. There are 3 Tracfones from which to choose that total $79.95 delivered for 1 year service.

That is $20 cheaper than your are now paying and it will be a new phone with car and wall chargers and also a case to cover it. I can vouch for Tracfone as I have been using them for close to 10 years now. No dropped calls and no problems with any of my 10 different phones, of several different brand names.

You want cheap and dependable, in my book Tracfone cannot be beat, especially at the price I mentioned above.
