Husband and I have an inexpensive cell phone plan--$100 per year with AT&T......have had too many issues with their customer service......we only use the phone maybe 6 times a year...only when my husband is on an overnight trip.....just not cell phone users!  Any suggestions for another inexpensive phone, with no bells or whistles, for seniors like us!!  Thanks!

Have you considered the basic Jitterbug? I think it runs about the same you are paying. Not sure how good the service is!

If you rarely use it, why are you having so many issues with customer service?  I ask because if you are the problem, changing phones or carriers may not solve it.

Re: Cell Phone Suggestion...

I know you have AT&T but suggest an AT&T GoPhone.  It's a prepaid plan; they have both smart and non-smart phones.  I have a smart phone though my plan includes no data.  Even so, the smart phone has a camera and can connect to the internet wherever there's free wifi (for example, in your home).  I pay $25 per quarter, or $100 per year.  Usage costs $1 per day used plus $0.10 per minute.

Search Clark Howard cell phone plans.  He lists various plans and their reviews.  He has a list for those who have limited needs for use.  He is a national syndicated radio hosts. He is extremely well know for his information regarding investing, traveling, current scams, etc.  I enjoy his radio call in show.  He is helpful to many and he will tell you if you need to get further help.

I AM NOT THE PROBLEM.....and I don't appreciate your snarky comment.....the customer service issues have been with their repeated billing mistakes.......have a nice day. .. .......

Re: Cell Phone Suggestion...

I have a trac fone. I purchased it from qvc last august for $99.00. I had 1200 minutes which is automatically tripled  I have text, camera, google etc.  I can call long distance,Every year you have to buy more minutes and your unused minutes are carried over. It cost $100.00 to add minutes for an entire year. Tripled minutes is for the life of the phone.  I only use it to call long distance for family to reach me when I am not at home and for emergencies. I am very pleased with it.

I can't suggest an inexpensive phone ... but I've been with AT&T since 2001 ... never had a single customer service issue.

Re: Cell Phone Suggestion...

My family has used Verizon for years with no problems.  We are now up to 6 houses in the immediate.  We all have friends all over the country.  Everyone also has Verizon so we pay nothing for calls and texts to other Verizon users.  Most everyone has eliminated their house phone as it is not needed.

My friend has a flip phone with Consumer Cellular.  She pays $15 monthly for service.
