I was in LAX airport early--around 10 a.m. I saw Shirley Jones ahead of me in super dark glasses with an older, almost disheveled looking man. I didn't even know it was her until the security lady behind me saw her and said the Partridge Family was her favorite show. I walked quicker, got a quick look...sure enough it was Shirley Jones, LOL. She was promoting a book, I believe, around that time.
She didn't look in any mood to talk, LOL.
I would bet anything the disheveled looking man was her hub, the late Marty Ingalls.
When did he pass? This was a year and a half ago--August 2014.
@winamac1 10/21/15 (I had to Google - you could have!)
Spelled Ingels
Yes....I could have. I incorrectly assumed you may have known.

I shook Ted Kennedy's hand many moons ago! Various politicians used to come to the company I worked for then and Mr. Kennedy came into our department to say 'hi'. Also, met couple of the Wash Redskins, over breakfast, while on vacation - again, years ago! I actually hit it off quite well with one of the (don't ask me their names!), but had to catch a plane. And, when on my honeymoon, we went to see the Red Sox in training and talked with a few of them who signed a baseball for my then nephew (I'm divorced). I never thought about them as celebrities - only thought of TV stars that way. But, I guess I've met some celebs!! Does Tigger at Disneyworld count!?!

Oh I see lots of extra girth going on --on the campaign trail. And double chins, too.
Can't be too much subway.

I met Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues once, shook his hand, and chatted with him for a moment. Sexy guy!
@Pearlee- loved Justin....a few of my friends named their sons after him....greatest band ever!
I should add to my post that the evening I met Justin Hayward, earlier that evening his manager took to him a photo I wanted him to sign of the MBs and Justin signed it "To [my first name] With Love, Justin Hayward." I framed it of course and it's in my dining room! Sigh!
@Pearlee- those were the days! Loved the MBs!

@Stray They still tour and are fantastic still And they do all the favorites! They don't disappoint. Originals Justin, John Lodge and Graham Edge (who lives in Bradenton FL) are still with the group; Ray Thomas retired. If you get a chance, go! They are just great, and Justin is still sexy. He usually wears black leather pants on stage and a white shirt unbuttoned way down..

Domnald Trump and his wife passed by about 4 feet from me today while at the 9/11 Memorial museumWow! How did he look close-up? Is he tall? What about Melania? What were your initial impressions?
What did you think of the 9/11 Memorial museum?
@Deb1010yetagain I have never seen Melania but I saw Trump in person. I couldn't tell you how tall except taller than average - I wasn't looking at him for height nor standing close enough to him to judge him compared to my own height. But my first thought was about his hair of course. First of all, it's pretty much gray, even though it often comes across as orange-ish on my TV set. No, it's gray and the day I saw him it was quite long in the back. The rest of it wasn't so I didn't think he "needed a haircut"; it's just he wears it quite a bit longer in the back than I would have expected. And from the front - really a "combover" was not noticeable. It totally looked fine, much to my great surprise! The other thing that surprised me was his energy - in his step, in his animated talking, etc. Lots of pep to his step for a man who will be 70 yrs. old and is overweight. Really, I thought he looked just fine and normal, which I wasn't really expecting (esp. the hair!).
He's overweight? His official statistics say that he's 6'2" and weighs 198 pounds - not really overweight at all for that height.
Unless he's lying about his REAL weight....
@terrier3 I don't know what the scale says or what he claims his stats are for weight, but watch him the next time he turns sideways and has his jacket unbuttoned - quite a gut!
I don't know if this matters but it's my understanding he is now wearing a bulletproof vest wherever he goes so that could add to his girth?
oh I think that matters a lot! Hi mtc!
Hi @emma bunting, it is good to see you again and glad after your mishap (misstep?) that you are on the mend my friend! . . .

@Pearlee- I will have to watch for them in the NY area. I have seen some of the older groups and they weren't so good. But, since you say they are still great I will go....they had a great sound and the music was so different and still my favorite songs....Who didn't live Nights In White Satin....the song really brings back good memories
