I've met a few back in the day, mostly rock musicians because my hubby was in the music business. He's worked with Elton John, Billy Joel and others in that genre,

As hubby's tag along, I've met the Rolling Stones, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, among others.  The nicest celebrity I've met many times is Johnny Depp. He is a very kind and gracious, soft spoken, sweet man.  At one meeting, he went out of his way to meet with me, passing through a rowdy crowd, as I use a wheelchair and couldn't make it through the chaos. Another time, he had his security escort me to a safe area where we could chat privately. I can honestly say he is a good man and I'm happy he succeeded through his challenges. I still maintain correspondence with him,

About 25 years I met Jamie Lee Curtis at a book signing at the Barnes & Noble I was working at. She wasn't very nice to the employees, but when she went out to read to the kids she was charming and funny. I guess that's why they're called actors.

Disappointing, since I always liked her work. Not impressed. Maybe she was having a bad day.

@NEvans2 - DD has always been a fan of The Little Mermaid. She had a chance to meet Jodi Benson, who was the voice of Ariel, at a meet and greet. Not only was she rude to DD, not even making eye contact, but she also didn't pay any attention to the 6-year old ahead of her in line.

DD had taken her book, that DH and I had given her for her birthday. I wrote a little note inside. DD mentioned how special the book was to her, especially since her mom had written a note inside it. Jodi was unimpressed. DD paid a lot of money for someone to take a picture of her with Jodi on her cell phone.

The mom of the little girl was livid. She tried to talk to someone about it, but didn't get anywhere. She later discussed it with DD when they were standing in line to get a drink.

So DD chalked it up to Jodi's having a bad day, but she has since found out others have had the same experience on different days.

Paul Newman when I was 16, he was campaigning for Robert Kennedy & took time to talk one on one with office volunteers....he was so nice, interested in what you had to say, funny & I enjoyed our conversation. Also in April 1968 Robert Kennedy made a stop at our city airport, I was standing next to a woman holding a baby so he stopped, chatted with us & shook our hands...the next day a picture of Robert, the woman, baby & me was on the front page of the city newspaper...I still have that newspaper picture, my hand is in his & we all have big smiles.

When I was 17 I met Clark Gable at a gun Club in CA.  My in-laws were there, (yes I was married at 17) shooting skeet and I was wandering around watching people.  I heard a voice behind me say, "well hello young lady".  I turned around and there was Clark Gable handsome as in the movies.  He asked how I was and would I like to join his group for the next round of skeet.  I was barely able to speak, but said no thenk you.  He was very nice and like I said, very handsome.

@Lyttlewyng - You confirmed what I've always felt about Johnny Depp.  So many people spoke so highly of him through all of those "troubles" and I never believed a word of the "other party".

Did you hear about his new movie coming out in November?  "Ebeneezer"?

I can't wait to see it.  He's a true chameleon as an actor.

Personal non-work related:

Sat next to Jenna Elfman on a flight from LA to Tampa ( Jet Blue) We spoke briefly at the start. I tend to leave people alone. She had already done the tv show Dharma & Greg.

Out partying one New Years Eve in the 80's a friend of a friend brought Dale Midkiff back to our suite that 4 of us were staying in. I got to see his naked butt lol and sit across from him at breakfast in the diner the morning after. He was in Steven King's Pet Semetary and later as Jock Ewing in Dalas the Early Years, Elvis in Elvis and Me, and Hallmark classic Love Comes Softly, bunches of other stuff. Not a lot of interaction in my encounter...all of us were terribly hungover and well he did my friend's friend lol he was sooo good looking. He was already getting recognized when I met him...around Pet Semetary I think.

I worked at our local fairgrounds and arena so i got to meet and be around a few. George Thorogood, B.B. King. Trace Adkins. Eddie Money, The Black Crows, Ted Nugent ( jerk), Steven Segal (wacko), Sen. John McClain I was completely alone with him for 15 minutes before his campaign speech having brought him a coffee VERY early on in his run. Super nice. A few others not-so-famous lol
