Does anyone have a cat with this problem?
I've noticed in the last few weeks that my cat is licking his stomach excessively and then pulls out chunks of hair. When I took him to the vet to have his teeth cleaned, I mentioned it to the doctor. He examined him and said it's either fleas, allergy, or nerves. He didn't seem to concerned. We ruled out fleas, since he gets his monthly flea meds. I don't know if it's allergy since he doesn't do this anywhere else on his body, just his stomach. I don't know if this is something they may do as they age. He's 14. My son had a cat that did this and he took him to a number of different vets for treatments and nothing helped. They finally said it was his nerves.
