The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach is a good example. Some of you seem so down on lavish weddings, perhaps because you can't afford to throw one yourself?
*Ouch*............

That's not the case for me. I think it foolish to spend that much money on a wedding and reception. What's even worse is having the bride and groom expecting enough cash from the guests to pay for it!!!!!

I wouldn't pay attention to her. She's out of touch and thinks guests don't shop for gifts from the bride's registry. I'm surprised for a young girl such as Lila, not being aware of the registries brides her age (20's-30's) are using.

I don't know what kind of friends and family you all have....but no one I know would throw a big wedding and expect their guest to pay for it.
Maybe it's a regional thing.

Here's a glitzy, blinged out band aid for your ouchies.
They're all the rage in certain circles.

Do you read this board much? There are frequent posts about brides and grooms complaining about the monetary gifts they receive.

You mean ACTUAL brides and grooms have come on this board to complain about their presents? Really? I've never seen it. But then again.....I don't read the Dooney & Bourke board.....

Don't need to. I was married almost 24 years ago and my wedding suited my needs just fine and was quite lovely. I have no kids so paying for a wedding won't be an issue. I just don't understand the need to fork out that kind of money for one day but that's just me. Everyone is obviously free to do what they want.
