What is the fascination with this phenomenon??? It's just another bird. People think cuz they see one it's them that they came to visit. Then they have to associate with a person who passed. I don't think a bird purposely visits anyone.

First, if something gives someone comfort, what does it matter?
Second, G_d can (and does) use any of His creations to remind people they're loved and not alone.

@rms1954 I SO agree! I've always thought the idea of a cardinal being in someone's area is a dead loved one's spirit or something is just ridiculous. A bird is just a bird. I love birds, but they are birds, not symbols of the dead.

If they want to tell themselves that and that's what they WANT to believe but who are they kidding?

Why would anyone even care what others think of birds, dogs, cats, horses, etc. Or is it just to make fun of and belittle others?

Glad to find some other sensible thinking people. It fries me to hear a certain host go on and on with her personal Disney make-believe.
I put mixed nuts/ seeds/tree nuts..... all very expensive.... and good food drawn many kinds of birds. Not grandpa behind cloud number 7.

Well, I've never really been too enchanted with this idea either. If true, then I have more deceased relatives visiting me then I ever even knew I had. ![]()

Oh, silly me. I should have realized it was a make fun of Jane Treacy thread. I should have payed closer attention to the op.

I've always loved cardinals, which we don't have in New Mexico, simply because they're beautiful. I don't believe that stuff about a deceased love one but if it gives someone comfort, that's okay too.

@proudlyfromNJ It must be part of today's script because Jayne Brown said the same thing during her show.
