Card Games for Dummies

First, a disclaimer: I was an only child and my parents didn't play games often...

When I was in Arizona recently, I was invited to play a card game called 9 hole golf. It required very little strategy, which for me is a good thing, and was relaxing, but I'd like to learn a few more card games for the next trip down there. I do know how to play gin rummy.

What games do you play and how much strategy is involved??
