It's all about parts and availability. While we were out and about yesterday we stopped by the repair shop that is working on my car. I'm glad we stopped by, I feel a lot better seeing and talking with the shop owner where State Farm suggested we take our car.

But, it's going to be at least another 3 weeks if he can get the parts. He said since my car is a 2025 model, all the parts being made have priority to 2025 models on the manufacturing line. Parts for existing 2025 models (repairs) are not the priority.  If my car had been a couple of years older, there would be more available parts.  So far the grease marks on the leather seats in the backseat where the wrecker company tossed wrecked  parts are not coming out. They are going to call in a specialty company and if they can't get them out, it will require new back seats. Those don't come from Ford. So that's another company involved in supplying parts (sigh).

@monicakm will your insurance company pay for a rental car until yours is repaired?

@monicakm   Yes, supply chain issues. So sorry you have to go this with your car.

When I was driving my older car that DH now has, I hit a deer and emolished the front of the car. I'm so happy I had an SUV to keep me safe. I waited 3 months for repairs to be finished. I drove DH's car and insurance provided a rental for DH.

I hope you can get your car back soon.

Hope things go smoothly w/your car repair - glad the repair shop is a good one.  How frustrating that the seats were damaged.

If she has rental reimbursement coverage they will.

Even a decade ago my car took almost 2 months in the shop and there was less damage than your vehicle. It seems to be the norm.

AND...if you have an "older" car...they have to look in JUNKYARDS for parts...
