Mine here in Texas is every 6 months and I have been with Farm Bureau since 2000.  I will not be renewing in 8/24 it is just way too high.

I am going with AARP since I am a member with them and already have some extra life insurance supplements as well.  I increased my auto coverage and still have all the roadside assistance and my premium is lower by $300.00 for the 6 month period.  If I had kept the same PIP coverage that I had with Farm B. my premium would be $400.00 lower.

In the 24 years with Farm I have never filed a claim and only needed the roadside assistance once.  They performed wonderfully.  Hopefully I will be blessed with no needs my remaining years on the road.

I have read in Consumer Reports that it pays to either change up insurance and/or cable companies from time to time.

We added our teenage son to our policy and an additional vehicle. In doing so, our payment tripled!  Additionally, I was informed the company we go through will end their homeowner's policy next year...we live in California and they will no longer insure the state.  Our agent is looking at what other options we have for bundling since quite a few companies do not insure properties in California.  The search continues...

OP here, I went to GEICO this morning, they gave me a quote that will save me $227.85!  Even adding in my renter's insurance I will take with them, the total is still $105.85 less than what State Farm is asking for just my car insurance. Goodbye State Farm don't let the door hit you on the way out!

I live in Southern California and I had been with my car insurance company Wawanesa for over 20 years. About 1 1/2 years ago I wanted to support the union that I belong to which was Teamsters. Being shortsighted, I switched to State Farm. The savings was minimal but again I wanted to support.

A year later, I received a letter telling me that State Farm would not be renewing my insurance once the premium period ended. No claims, tickets or accidents.  They offered me an alternative which raised my 6 month premium by 100%

Luckily I was able to insure through USAA who also insures my home. I received a decent discount since I was bundling the insurance.

We have been insured by USAA for 41 years; its not cheap but it is consistently rated as the best. We bundle car and home insurance and couldn't be happier. We have had no claims for cars except wind shields every  so often. You have to be eligible for USAA and I'm eligible thru my Dad (Naval Officer and also later Naval Reserve) and now my sons and their driving offspring ( including one son's ex wife) are also members. We have made over $150,000 in claims over term of our coverage on home owners insur. for broken pipes, flooding due to rain and this year a new roof due to hail damage.

Insurance funnels down to one main pool and we all pay for disasters everywhere not just our own situation.

We will all pay for the droughts and floods across the nation!  And that is on top of the normal number of auto accidents it covers.

We switched to State Farm, because they offered a much lower rate...

Well, lo and behold, after a year, they increased our premium based on "blah, blah, blah"

I considered switching to GEICO, but friends have said that they do the same thing - Rope you in with a (relatively) lower rate, and then slap an increase on you, after a year or so.

Disappointing, to say the least. Smiley Sad

@LavernLuvsShoes I asked the agent if I'm getting a good deal as a new customer, will my rates go up after the year? He said that depends if you get into an accident, tickets, etc. He said you get a loyalty discount for a perfect record for a year, we'll see.
