I did get a text message from a student saying in Spanish, "amor, don't be mad, I hate it when we fight."

I promptly messaged him and told him I'm pretty sure he had the wrong #.

I fortunately teach upperclassmen, so I haven't seen as much nonsense as the teachers of 9th graders.

I mentioned the importance of having a "well stocked" room to keep kids in class.

One of my AP students arrived to class and asked if she could go to the office to get another shirt.  Her sweater seam had unraveled in the arms and she stapled it in her previous class but the staples were digging in.

I gave her safety pins and a sewing kit and she sewed her sleeve up while in class.
