Sorry but you are mistaken.

I can see no grounds for a law suit either. Chase is leaving Canada. There's no reason to believe, they're leaving the U.S.
I'm not a financial or legal expert; not my fields. I feel certain, lots of people, who are, were part of making this decision.

What I find really interesting the folks who think they are special because they don’t have a credit card balance. I almost never have a credit card balance, but right now I have one of about $2500. But that’s only because I had major work done on my house and I chose to put it on my credit card to earn air miles. Interest rates are also very very low.
What is wrong with using credit?

You have to understand @Bhvbum that those who make the claim that they pay off their balance in full every month, are "better than" and are "smarter" than those who don't, and look down their nose at those who don't.
Of course, they'll deny that.

Home Loans/HELOCS:
Interest may be tax deductible..and sets up a credit foundation
for bigger projects down the road. When I was working in banking,
lending officers would suggest personal credit only as the very
last resort if traditional credit lending means were not approved.

I'll never understand why people get so angry when something like this occurs.
Because they don't benefit, no one should?

@Johnnyeager So how would you feel if you scrimped and saved and sacrificed so that you could put your kids through college with no debt, and then everyone who graduated with student loans gets all their debt forgiven? That would not make you angry? I would be angry.

This is about credit card debt, not student loans.

Maybe this is what was behind that "opt out" letter from Chase that was a topic of conversation here recently. Chase getting things lined up, knowing they were going to forgive Canadian debt and preparing for the rest to get in line with lawyers to get theirs.

Not angry about it. Happy for those who receive unanticipated good fortune.
