I have been with Bank of America since 1989 and I'm ready to switch banks. I was shopping on Thursday (a lot of shopping) using my debit card when suddenly at a checkout my card was denied and I had used it several times before that. Okay, I gave them a check and continued shopping. Had to pick up prescriptions at 2 different pharrmacies and was denied at both, so gave them each a check.
When I got home there was a message from B of A on my answering machine as well as on my e-mail. Alert, there has been a lot of activity on your account, blah, blah, blah. Now who were they protecting, themselves or me? And how was I supposed to know while I was in a store or driving my car that there were messages at my home telling me they were blocking my account? Two weeks ago I had to put a stop payment on a check and was told there would be a fee of $30, huh? I said I had never been charged before and as a long time customer they should waive the fee, which they did. However, in the future there will be a $30.00 fee.
My daughter has been with Chase Manhattan for several years and has been after me for months to change banks. I think it is about time. Does amyone have an account with Chase Manhattan? And who out there agrees that I should dump B of A? I look forward to your comments.
