Re: Can You Recommend A Non-Drying Styling Product?

Hello, NoelSeven. Smiley Happy

I use Nick Chavez Velvet Mesquite Hydrating/Thickening Styling Gel. That's very good for moisture and has good hold. It doesn't dry my hair out like other styling gels did.

My hair has been feeling dry lately, so I changed my shampoo and conditioner and have invested in a new hairdryer.

Still feels dry to me.  I've been using Bumble & Bumble grooming cream, the only variable left.

I know for sure mousse dries my hair out, I'm hoping someone can recommend something else.

There are alcohol-free mousses around; check out the reviews on Amazon.

And sprays that help protect your fragile hair from hot tools like blow dryers.

"Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer" is one that consistently gets favorable reviews.

I have fine hair too (wavy, though) and find that the following really help:

*a moisturizing/hydrating hair mask once a week

*a detangler/leave-in conditioning spray after every wash

*a weightless dry oil (like "L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Multi-Restorative")

*applying a deep conditioner just to the ends (while conditioning the rest)

*washing my dry hair 2-3 times a week (also healthier for the scalp)

You could try one at a time and see what works.

BTW, while hair color is great for giving our fine hair more body, it's also drying.
