It was weird today. Despite all the ice, went out grocery shopping today. It was about 11:30 AM. Noticed that the temperature was going down . Could not believe that during the time of day that you expect the temperature to be going up it was going down to 18 F from 20 F. Stopped looking at the temperature after that. I felt cold enough.

@monicakm I'm with you. I have a friend that would take 103 F to below zero everytime. Not me. i can add a sweater, when it's that hot you sit in your own sweat yuck. I don't have a problem with the cold. My family has a history of skin cancer, you can't get me to sit in that sun ugh. I've always burned never tanned no matter what lotion I used. My daughter who has lupus and mixed connective tissue disorder among other things can't take the cold. her hands and feet turn white and it's extremely painful for her in minutes. My parents loved the heat in Florida when they retired down there. My dad hated moving to Maine so my sister could help him with my mom with her advanced alzeimers. My siblings never wanted to move down there for that heat. My oldest brother in his upper 70s still hikes in the winter. My sister is in her 70s and still skis. We like our seasons. I get there are people who hate the cold, personally I enjoy the bug free months. To each their own. That's why there are different places to live :-) There were many years when an arctic blast would come down from Canada and it would be freezing for a while. Snow happens in winter. But when you have seasons it will change. I don't like the same thing everyday. For those in the freezer rignt now, stay warm it will get better. :-)

Hey, we've made it back up to a 2-digit temp. After 3 days in the deep freeze, we are back on the rise.

I hate to wish the time away but I'm counting down to Spring. I've been freezing!! The older I get the lower my tolerance for cold goes.
Although, winter was never my favorite season, I was able to handle the cold better when I was young. Now it's just plain miserable. No matter how many layers I wear I just can't get warm.

I'm in the Buffalo NY area and haven't left my house since Saturday. I have 5' of snow on my deck. My son's car is buried in the driveway. The lake effect has been oscillating for days. It's supposed to stop tomorrow so we wil be getting another foot or more. Anyone who likes winter is welcome to stop over if you can get through. There are travel bans, travel advisories, school closings, grocery stores open for a few hours and then close. The roads aren't too bad but the minute they get cleared, they fill back up. Then the plows come through the neighborhood and dump two feet of snow at the end of the driveway. Since Saturday people!!!
So cancel it now!!!

No, trucker daughter does long haul runs to the west coast. Her employer is in NC, so she hauls products out and in most cases, hauls food products back to the east coast. This time of year she brings back potatoes, onions, citrus, apples, and frozen foods.
Huntington, WV is as far north as I've been to in the state. I'm quite content on the southern end near the VA border!

Your family is a mixed bag when it comes to hot and cold. Something for everyone Maybe if I didn't sweat so easily and so much I wouldn't have such a hatred for the warmer months. When the end of Oct comes and I can throw open my north window (over my bed), I'm in heaven I don't recall exactly how I phrased it, but yesterday I asked Google which state(s) have the most temperate weather (maybe that was the wrong term). I'm looking for temps between 50 and 70. She named Texas. I told her she was full of it! We were in the teens two days ago. Now it's in the low 60s.

I've bee hot natured since I was 9. A couple of years ago, 62ish, I started being more sensitive to cold. I thought to myself, YAY!!! I'm not going to be so super sensitive to the heat. Wrong Now I'm just uber sensitive to both.
I can add clothes tho and can't take them off.

I hear ya. My temper can go south easily when I'm a hot mess. According to Google, I need to move to San Diego if I want lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s. If I wasn't afraid of CA falling off into the Pacific Ocean, I might think about moving. That would be a twist. Californians are moving TO Texas and I'd like to move out of TX to CA (for the weather).
