Calling all New Englanders ~ Sightseeing advice

We are booking tours for 2015 when we go to Springfield Mass for our National Square Dance Convention. Long way off, I know, but we have to book early. I have a short list of choices and am wondering if you all might have a comment. I don't want to waste my time or money are places to go that might not be all that worth going. Any help would be appreciated. Some include lunch and most take more than half a day. I really have no preference but simply don't want to miss something that is really wonderful. Thanks in advance

1. Lexington-Concord-Boston (following Paul Revere)

2. Boston Tour

3. Old Sturbridge Village (Mass)

4. John Kennedy Museum

5. Plymouth Plantation

6. Yankee Candle Co

7. Norman Rockwell Museum

8. Mark Twain Home

9. Abraham Lincoln Family Home with outlet mall (VT)

Yankee candle to me is a must do, a great place and so much fun. If you're into butterflies, Magic Wings is just down the street.

Sturbridge Village is fun too, but an all day event and I would say you would have to have an interest in history to enjoy this.

The Norman Rockwell Museum has rave reviews on trip advisor.

Living just over the line in CT, we go to Springfield just about every weekend. If you love good chinese food, there is a restaurant on Cooley Ave called Peacock, their sweet and sour chicken is to die for.

Have fun!

Spend a day at Old Sturbridge Village and Yankee Candle in Old Deerfield is woth the visit. Norman Rockwell is good because its in Stockbridge, which is worth spending some time in the village and the Red Lion Inn. I would also see Mystic CT, the town and the little village next to the aquariam.

mystic is nice but not on her list. Even so, it would be at least an hour twenty minute one way drive.

Take the Boston Tour.....there is a lot to see and do in Boston.

Old Sturbridge Village is a wonderful place to see and spend the day but there is a lot of walking.

Yankee Candle is also a great place to go to. It all depends on what you like.

I would definitely skip #1..........a lot of driving or riding an not really a lot to see.

Also would skip #4.........too far away from everything else and not something that you could spend the entire day at.

Plymouth Plantation is a nice place to see but on the same idea as Old Sturbridge and more to see at Old Sturbridge.

I also would skip numbers 7, 8 and 9.

Boston has a lot to do and see. There is the Aquarium, Quincy Market right near the Aquarium and a lot more.

Enjoy your trip!
