The stories of kindness and heroism that emerge from these stories are a small silver lining aren't they?
I hope people remember these stories the next time someone pops off as to how the younger generation as a whole are a selfish, self-absorbed, and ungrateful population.

No...they think all their students are potential madmen and everyone needs to carry heat in case of an imminent gun fight breaking out!
This was said with sarcasm which I didn't make clear. It is meant that they are all so perfect that nothing will ever happen so they have them but will never need them. Said as one who lives in a city with a large university in Idaho'

Someone should tell them the most recent madman was taken down by a hall monitor with pepper spray.

He's engaged to be married and someone else who knew him sent out a notice by way of social media, posting their wedding gift wish list and simply said: "You know what to do." I heard the list was already filled by last night.
