I just read today that my county's wonderful director of health has been facing death threats for a couple months now from seriously out-there people. She's not resigning; she's in for the duration.
I preferred when the loons stayed in their mothers' basements or shouted on street corners.
I think people are allowing their social media/online personas into the real world.
Also, many take their cues from TV. How much kindness have you seen there lately?
Some people don't see the line between reality and fiction.
Just following the Leader......
@DottieBlue ALthough I know where you loyalties are, I'll ask which leader you mean.........p-o-tu-s? Leader of the house? The basement candidate?
Seems we have a few to choose from, no?
The basement candidate? What a gratuitous slam.
"basement" aka "bunker"

Even if the baby was wearing a mask, his eyes wouldn't have been protected. Stores do sell baby size masks. I was in Target the other day and saw this precious child in a stroller wearing one. So cute yet so sad if you know what I mean.....that this is what parents have to do now....I walked quickly away as my eyes started welling up.

USA Today has an article where a woman in California was in a yogurt shop line for check out. There was a baby in a stroller, the mother and the grandmother behind her. Words were exchanged because she felt they were not social distancing enough. She finally removed her mask, knelt down to the baby and coughed in the baby's face several times. They have a picture of her and the police are looking for her to charge her with assault. What type of person would intentionally try to hurt a baby?
So let me get this straight ...... this woman was concerned that the mother & grandmom were too close to her, and they wouldn't back up and give her space? They refused to "socially distance" from her?
Did she actually hurt this baby that was too close to her?
Granted, it was an odd reaction, but why didn't the women just adjust their places in line to make everyone else feel more comfortable?
I don't know about anyone else here, but don't you think both parties were a little in the wrong?

The CDC has said that children under 2-years-old should not wear a mask or any other face covering due to a risk of choking, strangulation, or suffocation.Babies and younger toddlers have smaller airways and breathing through a mask is more difficult for them.

Certainly, this woman's behavior, was beyond despicable, and, hopefully, she can be located and charged with assault.
I do hope, though, that you're exaggerating your reaction, to make a point.
Chances are, this baby, will have no ill, effects, except, in the example you gave, the child would be growing up, without its Mama, who'd likely be in prison, for 20 years or more, maybe much more, if you got 2nd degree murder!
And no, someone coughing on your child, awful as it is, would not justify murder.

@Tinkrbl44 the young mom said in an interview that it happened very fast. To stoop down to the level of a baby, remove your mask and deliberately cough is 100% her fault and interesting how after removing her mask it didn't occur to her that her protection was gone not to mention by touching the facemask. The woman was a nut and needs to be prosecuted, imo. I think the mom won't know until 14 days if the baby gets sick.

@mom2four0418 thanks for the info. The baby I saw while at Target did look around 3.

Yes, I think the women who were too close were wrong. But that does NOT give anyone the right to remove their mask and cough into anyone's face, especially that of a child.
While I highly doubt the child will get COVID-19 from this woman, what she did was, in my opinion, assault. And, again, I hope she's at least fired from the school district.

When I saw the news clip on it they said mom was clearly at least six feet away from the woman.
