did anyone watch "Hamilton" the other night?

My DH and I did. What did you think of it?

I'm always disliked Broadway shows and musicals in particular but this was a chance to see a very popular show at no cost so we tuned it in.

I ony made it about halfway through. The words (and I'm glad they had subtitles because for me, at the age of 70, rap is kind of hard to understand) were good and so was the music and dancing but it felt so ... predictable. I've seen only a few Broadway shows (not many) and they mostly seem pretty much the same to me.

Am I the only one who wasn't entranced?

@GoneButNotForgotten I am not a fan of musicals either.

We lived in the NYC area for 10 years and I tried going to some thinking that if I saw a variety, I might have a change of heart. That did not happen.

I am probably one of the few that feel like watching "The Sound of Music" is like chalk on a blackboard.

I have not seen "Hamilton," but may check out a few minutes of it.

On the positive side, there are all sorts of other things for us to enjoy!

DD and family only sat thru 30 minutes. Even the younger ones didn't like it. She showed me parts on her phone. With all the hype I had no clue about it being rap. I like musicals, but, this????

So happy we didn't waste money for Broadway tickets. Not my kind of musical.

I love musicals. However, I've never considered rap to be the kind of music that I enjoy listening to. Just not my taste.

I tend to enjoy musicals and like some rap, but decided to pass on this based on some of what I read about Broadway's Hamilton.

Yes, I saw it the first night and I loved every minute of it! I love the fact that it was rap, which isn’t easy to do. I will definitely watch it again. I’m glad it was with the original cast. Lin Manuel Miranda is great! Big fan of musicals and this was one of the best, IMO.

We saw it on Broadway with the original cast and loved it. There definitely something lost watching it on television but enjoyable just the same.

I started watching it and stuck with it for about 10 minutes. I couldn't stand the Hamilton guy: his voice was boring, and he was too.

Music is a huge part of my life, but I have no interest in this show.

On the other hand, so many people love The Phantom of the Opera but I hated it! I literally fell asleep, which was more exciting than the show. To each their own.
