I haven't heard Catilyn talk about whether or not she will have the surgery. She'll probably talk about it during the upcoming show she's doing about her transition. One good thing for her is that she can certainly afford to have it if she wants to.

Why can't people be honest. It doesn't make you a bad person. Everything about Caitlyn is male, she looks like a truck driver dresssed in drag for a Halloween party. There's nothing even remotely feminine about her. Those professional photos were all smoke and mirrors. I looked at the Father's Day photo of the family and I burst out laughing. Bruce Jenner in a bad wig and and an ill fitting dress. So, Caitlyn's voice is the last of her problems. She has the bone stucture of a man and there are no hormones and surgeries in the world that can do anything about that. She had her Adam's Apple surgically removed but my guess is there isn't much they can do about her male larynx but I think a voice coach might help. However, Caitlyn is 65 and that probably has a negative affect on some changes. It's hard for a old man to adopt new traits, like a new voice.

This is off track but I didn't know Eddie Izzard was transgender till I saw him on the late late show with james corden the other day.

He does have a right to do what will make him happy. I'm not sure this will be the thing at his age, but I don't think he looks feminine. I wish him well

No doubt, she is taking massive doses of female hormones but that won't change her bone structure. Wigs and hair extensions can give her hair worthy of a Kardashian. There's laser treatments for hair removal. Caitlyn can afford the huge ongoing expenses but sadly she'll never really look like a woman because she has such he-man body. I think transitions like that work best aesthetically on men who have slight builds and some feminine characteristics.....and aren't in their 60's.

That's all on you. A lot of women have masculine voices and have made careers out of them - Mavis Staples, Kathleen Turner, and others. And a lot of men have higher voices and made careers out of that, like Michael Jackson.

Your preconceptions and knowledge of her past are getting in the way of appreciating the change, not her voice.

Total bull! Those women all had deep, sultry voices but not one of them ever had a man's voice. Voices come in range of registers but you can always differentiate between the male voice and the female voice. Conversely, a man who has a high pitched voice does not sound like woman. One can be respectful, supportive and accepting and still tell the truth. As is so often true in life; the truth isn't always pretty. In Caitlyn's case, which has garnered so much publicity, I think truthfulness is even more important.

Peggy Lee had a deep sulty voice, some of the black ,female, jazz singers had a voice like that, but you could still tell they were feminine

ETA Jennifer Patterson, of the 2 fat ladies, had a very husky voice, like mom's Mabely, she was also a very, heavy smoker, of many years

Over the phone women are mistaken for men and when you hear about it happening it isn't that surprising.

The surgery on the laynx is iffy...must be done early and not at 65 and is more successful in transgendered men. Female hormones have no effect on voice. Most go to a voice coach and it takes 6 months to a year for a total change, if at all successful; there is also an App. Believe it or not! However, it is the speaking/thinking like a female that makes the change easier. If sentences end with a questioning characteristic, higher at the end of the sentence, that is a female characteristic...or sometimes the choice of words...or phrases are more female...so it is a lot of work. We have a bias because we know Caitlyn was Bruce and so his voice, even if it changes, and the pitch is lower, she will sound masculine...but, to someone just meeting Caitlyn after her full transition, she may sound sultry like Bacall, Vaccaro etc

I can't imagine what it must be like to be one person in your body and another one you really want to be. I don't care rich or not it must take a toll on that person. May the voice be femine or masculine that's not the whole problem. Some people cannot afford surgeries, makeovers, beautiful clothing all kinds of money to make it easier and Celebrity support. I feel for the ones that are struggling. No support from no one . Family and friends turn against them and they are completely alone in a strande body. Can you imagine the fear and desparation they must feel. I'm tired of hearing about Bruce he is famous. Low voice or high voice he will survive in his mansion and all the so called friends riding on his coat tails. Let us remember We are all Gods children.
