Absolutely! CVS is very pricey. Walgreens is much better, but for staples like papertowels and T.P. I think Costco or BJs are the best and the local supermarket is better than CVS. As far as the empty shelves go...for a couple of weeks it was impossible to get "shapes" in pasta. (Shells, Large elbows, Rigatoni etc...)
Now those are back but I cannot find jumbo eggs. I guess we need to adjust to this hit-or-miss situation and buy a little extra when you find something that has been hard to come by.
