I've gotten my prescriptions from them for years, in two cities, and my experience is the same as yours, AnikaBrodie. When we do go inside, though, they're clean, bright, and well-organized (and the staff is great). Maybe it just depends upon the local management.

My grocery store (Schnuck's) is about 1 mile in the other direction of the CVS Pharmacy from where I live...... Have used their pharmacy for years, and never have a problem with them. Also get my flu shot there from the pharmacist. I pick up my meds when I'm in the store shopping......one stop shopping.........

I only go to Walgreen's (across the street) for something they have a sale on that I really want.

I haven't seen the ads, but only catch an hour or so of tv each day.

here in CA, where I live, I still miss our Longs Drug stores...all of them became CVS stores. The merchandise isn't as varied, but the closest store to me, is clean and well-managed.

They eliminated tobacco products a month earlier than announced, changed the name. They're a little late to the game and had to catch up.

They seem to make the news every couple of years for "pharmacy prescription mistakes".

CVS here is a dirty unorganized pit that I wouldn't trust to fill a script. They can do whatever they want because I haven't been in one in years!

That commercial grosses me out. I have been in a CVS only twice and I was not impressed, still prefer Walgreens.

The tobacco thing is old. I was in mine this week and all the tobacco products have a 25% OFF tags on them. If they really were worried about people they would have yanked them and sent them back to the distributors, not waited months selling off all the stock.
