Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings - No headache - and haven't had one in a few days, Praise the Lord!! Another blessing - we started playing our cards again (500) - played another couple here, we hosted for this month, and served some of our Anniversary cake which was frozen. Have more left for when we host again in November. Lori purchased her airline ticket today for Dec. 23rd for Texas, one way, as we are driving there (to Darla's) about a week earlier with Ollie and Sammy, and she'll ride home with us after Christmas. She got a good price today! Another blessing! Praying for all of you for all your intentions!

God gives us power, love and self-discipline, not fear and timidness.

Lord, I will not be afraid to proclaim that You are my God. All will see

it in my actions.

Scripture for the day:

"And the one who was seated on the throne said, 'See, I am making all

things new.' Also he said, 'Write this, for these words are

trustworthy and true.'" ~Revelation 21:5

Meditation for the day:

We can breathe in the inspiration of goodness and truth. It is the

spirit of honesty, purity, unselfishness and love. It is readily

available if we are willing to accept it wholeheartedly. God has

given us two things--God's spirit and the power of choice--to accept

or not, as we will. We have the gift of free will. When we choose

the path of selfishness and greed and pride, we can refuse to accept

God's spirit. When we choose the path of love and service, we can

accept God's spirit

and it can flow into us and makes all things new.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may choose the right way. I pray that I may try to

follow it to the end.

Watch, O Lord (St. Augustine)

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,

and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep.

Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.

Rest Your weary ones.

Bless Your dying ones.

Soothe Your suffering ones.

Pity Your afflicted ones.

Shield Your joyous ones,

and all for Your love's sake. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Let Me Know Myself

Lord Jesus, let me know myself and know You,

And desire nothing save only You.

Let me hate myself and love You.

Let me do everything for the sake of You.

Let me humble myself and exalt You.

Let me think of nothing except You.

Let me die to myself and live in You.

Let me accept whatever happens as from You.

Let me banish self and follow You,

And ever desire to follow You.

Let me fly from myself and take refuge in You,

That I may deserve to be defended by You.

Let me fear for myself, let me fear You,

And let me be among those who are chosen by You.

Let me distrust myself and put my trust in You.

Let me be willing to obey for the sake of You.

Let me cling to nothing save only to You,

And let me be poor because of You.

Look upon me, that I may love You.

Call me that I may see You,

And for ever enjoy You. Amen.

Saint Augustine of Hippo, Bishop, Writer, Doctor

Feast Day 28th of August

Family Prayer is Dangerous

Once a little boy of five was left alone with his father at bedtime. It had

never happened before.

After some maneuvering and a lot of fun, the father finally got the little

fellow into his night clothes and was about to lift him into bed when the

child said, "But, Daddy, I have to say my prayers."

So he knelt down beside the bed, folded his hands, raised his eyes to

heaven, and prayed the usual "Now I lay me down to sleep." But tonight he

took another look at his Dad, then continued to pray, "And, dear God, make

me a great big good man like my daddy. Amen."

In a moment he was in bed and within five minutes, asleep. Then the father

knelt by his son's bedside and prayed, "Dear Lord, make me a great big good

man, like my boy thinks I am."

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Gloria, your post was great! We need a revival in America. People need to turn back to God. Too long have they left God out. Recently, a child was sent to the office in her school for saying bless you when another child coughed. The Issle group said they are coming after American Christians. Please keep praying. Pray someone in Washington will do something. Thank you Gloria for posting your great prayer. Bless you.

I had a Dr. appointment scheduled for today and the office called and said the Dr. would be out today and now I have to wait till the 15th.

Lovestopaint, I am looking for a fram to put your card into. I want to hang it up somewhere in the house. My bathroom is yellow, but the kitchen would work too. It is precious indeed.

Blessing to you all. I am blessed because Jesus is patient with me and is watching over me. I really want to pray for people Gloria. Everyone can use a prayer. I cannot walk very far, but I can pray for people. /God answers prayers. Have a good day. Did not mean to write a book!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Gloria and Bobbiesue, you are both right America needs a lot of prayers especially since a few people want to take GOD completely out of everything and they are getting away with it. Whatever happened to majority rules. Counting my blessings, and blessings to all. HARLENE(lovestopaint)

Harlene - that is just awful about that people get by with taking God out of everything - after all, He's the One who created them, He's the One Who created the whole world, and you sure can see the devil is running wild. Be Gone, Satan! We rebuke all evil demons in the Name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord! Jesus, have mercy upon those people and please do bring them to their senses! Amen.
