CSI Crime Scene Investigation

Has anyone else noticed that CBS is airing more repeats of this show than new episodes this season? Yet the cable guide labels them as new so you tune in expecting a new episode and a few minutes in you realize, Hey, you've seen this before.

CBS has already said they may limit the order of new episodes this year after putting the show in what has become to be a deadly time slot, now they are making sure it will die!

Yes, I've noticed that, too. Last night, there was a message scrolling across the bottom of the screen that due to the football game's overrun, CBS decided to air the new episode of CSI at a later date. They did that last week, too. The episode they aired last night might have been a re-run, but I hadn't seen it before, so it was OK by me.

Seems goofy to me, to do that just because the football game went over the allotted time slot, but the network's in charge so I guess we just have to live with it.

The east coast didn't see any episode of CSI this week or last due to overrun of sports.

The 2 shows 'Madame Secretary' and 'The Good Wife' were shown and then it was time for the 11 PM news.

What happens if someone DVR's CSI and it starts late? Does the machine record the actual show or just the hour it was supposed to run? (And now you know why I just cancelled my DVR - I barely used it and decided to save the $150/year it costs.)

We used to have Tivo and it recorded whatever the guide said was supposed to be on, so if we wanted CSI on Sunday at 9pm, and the guide said CSI was on Sunday at 9pm, it recorded an hour's worth of Sunday at 9pm. If sport overran, and the 9pm show started late, it wouldn't extend the recording so we'd miss the ending.

It worked out OK when they rescheduled the missing show for the regular time the next week, but that's not always what happens. Once the station ran the "missed" show an hour late, so our Tivo didn't know that, and we totally missed it (happened with Elementary). Or if they run the missed show on a different, unexpected day, that isn't in the guide, then that doesn't record either.

I hate it when they mess with my stuff {#emotions_dlg.mad}

Re: CSI Crime Scene Investigation

Once CBS started moving shows around to accommodate football, I lost CSI in the mix. Last night, Sunday night football ran until 8 pm. CBS never pre-empts 60 minutes so I didn't get to see Madam Secretary until 9 pm. I read somewhere that the ratings were declining for CSI. The ratings are nothing to be ashamed of, but too low for CBS. I think they are contributing to the failure of the show by dumping it on Sunday.

I wonder how NCIS Los Angeles is doing? I never watch that one and think that moved that one around too.

I read an article yesterday that said CSI was sure to be cancelled this year. I guess I can understand why. It has been on for years and has gotten pretty stale in the last couple of years.

Yes, nothing like putting a low rating show onto another night and then start pre- empting it for the news and football programs.

Its being punished for its low ratings (by moving it to Sunday)

NCIS LA was moved to Monday at 10PM ET and was previously on at 10PM ET on Tuesdays last season. Currently in the Tuesday 10PM timeslot is another show in the NCIS dynasty-- NCISNOLA --NCIS New Orleans
