Re: COMFORT FOODS WHEN STUCK IN SNOW DAYS?

We've been working to deal with the "massive San Francisco storm" for days.

At the moment, my comfort food is snowflake shaped Ritz crackers, some Trader Joe's cheddar cheese with dried apricots, slices of creamy brie cheese, and a Manhattan with Jack Daniel.

Re: COMFORT FOODS WHEN STUCK IN SNOW DAYS?

After reading all your comfort foods, I've discovered we are more alike than not.

When the temps dropped and then the snow started, our menu was split pea soup with ham left over from Christmas.  When that was gone we had meatloaf.  Yesterday, I made a large pot of vegetable beef soup.

There's a pizza in the freezer and a couple of bottles of wine for dire emergencies.  I know there's some chocolate around that I'm trying to ignore.  There's always shrimp in the freezer and pasta in the cupboard.

Re: COMFORT FOODS WHEN STUCK IN SNOW DAYS?

Macaroni and cheese, snow, rain, or any day!  For some reason mac and cheese gives me a ton of energy, and when it's stormy outside, I end up doing a lot of indoor chores and mini-projects: re-arranging furniture and/or items, etc.  I sometimes make my own by pouring melted Velveeta over cooked elbow macaroni.  Sprinkled with various spices.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
