@Tinkrbl44 "running them under hot water"
Old school that works........
1 - Do the above but w/boiling water
2 -Spray a little WD 40 using the red straw on the nozzle
3 - Spray a little WD 40 using the red straw on a paper towel or napkin.
4 - Roll the pointy tip of a PLASTIC toothpick into the oil & plug into the tiny nozzle hole back & forth a few times.
5 - No more clogging
THE END
P.S. The above also works on clogged shower heads.

I recently got a "special" of two bottles of body lotion from Alpha Skin Care. They'd been heavily criticized because their product was so thick it couldn't be removed from the upright bottle.
So they thinned it a little and included a pump for each bottle. Trouble was, the thin, lightweight pump was so cheap it wouldn't have pumped water. They would not move to pump anything. The bottles were overfilled so inserting the pump resulted in overflow. I had a nice mess and still no workable way to get the product out of the bottle.
I'm totally disgustedvwith Alpha Skin Products.

What I do with my aerosol spray cans is after I'm done using them I turn them up-side-down and spray them into a trash can until just a little bit of air comes out. That will clear out the nozzle and be ready for your next use.

@SilleeMee - I want to thank for sharing this tip previously on the beauty forum. Ever since I have turned my aerosol hairspray cans upside down, I have not had any clogging issues! It works! ![]()

I agree. Alpha lotion is a real pita to get out of the bottle. I found a larger pump that will actually pump it out but then when the bottle gets low the pump won't work. So I end up cutting the bottle open with a knife...carefully and then cover it with a baggie.

Turning the hairspray cans upside down is an old Aqua Net trick we all used back in high school!

This also works well for Rustoleum spray paint cans when it's time to recycle them and get any remaining paint out before tossing.

After using hairspray, I just run hot water over the nozzle, dry it, and then put it away. No issues.
