So you threw your money in the ocean. Well that was intelligent!!
It was her ring.....I think she must have had her reasons for doing what she did. Why do you care what she did with it?
Thank you September.

Years ago I threw a ring from a prior relationship into Lake Tahoe! This was in like 1991. It was very symbolic to me to throw it into the lake.
And by golly . . . It Felt Good!!!!

I did that once with a watch. I was alone, took it off and chucked it in a parking lot while walking into a store. I saw little golden pieces flying.![]()
My class ring is at the bottom of the Colorado River or some fish ate it. It fell off while I was learning to water ski. I only had it a little while.

I still have it (1968) & it still fits, though I haven't actually worn it in probably 45+ years! I don't think it's solid gold, though, maybe gold filled, not sure. Has my initial enameled in the top & the year with a blue stone, with the metal charm figure of the school mascot on top of the stone. Our school colors were blue & gold.

I'm sure it did feel good. An act like this can be cathartic, and allows someone to move on, which is much more important than the few $$$ the ring would be worth.
This is what I thought when I read the post by ILikeShade. And I was taken aback when someone thought to be critical of what she did.

I don't remember what mine cost in 1966 but it is 10k gold. We had a choice of sapphire or ruby for the emerald cut stone. My HS ring is very pretty and I'm glad I was able to get one. BTW - I also loved HS - had a great time.
