You have no idea how many times I checked to see if you were back and of course disappointed that you were not. I have been having some problems with my computer but I believe all is well, keeping my fingers crossed.
The main issue is that you had a wonderful trip and being able to take care of the little one. I will most gladly give your warmest regards to Lindsay and Stacy. Lindsay, so far has been doing well. She did have an appointment with a doctor who never contacted Stacy, however there are two more with different doctors. One way or another we will get to the root of the problems.
So on that note I am going to close since it is late but am so glad to finally be able to communicate with you. Stay safe my friend, and keep on wearing that mask.![]()

Hi Sandy Sparkles...there are two messages I sent you that you missed. You hearted one and there are two more beneath that one. Don't want you to miss anything my friend. ![]()

@Lindsays Grandma Awww dear friend! You have NOOO idea of just how delighted I was to see your updates!!!❤ I began to worry for several obvious reasons, but can now relax.😊
My itinerary has been quite full, but I am balancing it with days of REST because my body demands it! Today however, was a full day.😁
The 14th is approaching so quickly.😐 I do not want to leave this magical place, and am once again considering a semipermanent move after some pressing medical issues are addressed back home. The bugs have not been as vicious this visit-YAY!😊
My giggle box was tickled when I read your statement regarding scorpions and iguanas.😂😂 Iguanas, many species of spiders, geckos (indoors and outdoors), bats, owls, monkeys, sloths etc. are some of the fauna you are likely to encounter, depending on your location, time of day, etc... My phone camera definitely gets a workout.😁
Thank you SO much for caring about my safety!🥰 You always suggest that I wear a mask, and It truly warms my heart❤, but you can rest easy knowing that I am hypervigilant regarding the use of masks, and hand sanitizer. I never leave home without them.😊 COVID cases are on the rise here, so it is an absolute MUST!!!
I was happy to read that Lindsay is doing well❤, and although she has yet to see a new specialist for reasons beyond your control, I am ABSOLUTELY certain you will insure that she does so at the soonest available opportunity.😁
Well dear friend, that ole' pesky sandman is knocking on the door, so I should probably answer it.😄 As always, give my regards to Lindsay and Stacy.
Take great care dear friend.❤🤗

I know I shouldn't keep reminding you about wearing a mask, after all you are not a child. Now that I know you are hypervigilant about wearing a mask and hand sanitizer, no more reminders from me. From what you have written I take it you have not arrived back in the states yet, where exactly are you?
I am delighted that the bugs have been rather scarce, makes being outdoors so much more pleasant. The problem when the majority of people take a vacation or go on a trip is that they tend to put too much time in one day and by the time the trip is over they need a vacation from the vacation. But you don't have that problem, right?![]()
So now I am going to fix myself a nice hot cup of tea, finish what I started a half hour ago and then relax with my book which eventually puts me to sleep. Enjoy what is left of your trip and oh, I looked at the pictures again that you sent and you really were flying through the trees, I loved it. You sure looked as though you were enjoying it and will have wonderful memories when you are back home. Take care, stay safe, looking forward as always, to your the next episode.![]()

@Lindsays Grandma Awww dear friend. I do not mind your reminders.😁 They made me feel rather special.🥰 I understand your concern however, because some people still do not wish to comply with mask mandates; unless forced! My masks are worn under my chin at all times, for easy access when needed.😊 I merely wanted you to know that I am working diligently to prevent contracting COVID again. This new variant frightens me.😞
I am in one of the older beautiful beach towns in Guanacaste Province Costa Rica. And yes, I am the person who requires a holiday from my holiday.😂
The bugs have been MUCH nicer this trip, but they occasionally dine at Chez Sandy.🤪 I count less than 20 bites thus far and I have been here for a month, so THAT is a success!!!
The zipline platforms are nestled in the trees; higher with each line, but you actually soar ABOVE the JUNGLE below.😲 It was fascinating! One of the lines is so close to some of the trees on the side, you almost brush against them while zipping by. It is all part of the fun I suppose.😊
The sandman left too soon!😐 I am nursing a migraine at this late hour and unable to sleep, but hope your tea and book combination "escorted" you to dreamland.😊🤞
Take great care dear friend.❤🤗
Here is a screenshot from a video of me (mask under chin) at my favorite cafe that I went to for breakfast yesterday, and a pic (mask under chin) that my friend surreptitiously snapped of me walking to it. She is so much fun.😊

And aren't you a ray of sunshine strolling down the street looking elegant in your long dress...and your mask under your chin.
Along with you sitting like a movie star in a chair waiting for your public to notice you, again with your mask under your chin.![]()
Now I know this is personal so you can ignore it if you feel like it. You have a lot of gorgeous hair, I would love some of it. At one time you mentioned you wear wigs and because in this picture you have so much hair (of which I am very jealous) and I am wondering if it is a wig or if all of it is yours. All of my life I have had fine hair and spent not just a lot of time but a lot of money at the hair salon having it styled. Oh well, one can't have everything now can they?
Here are a few sayings to enjoy...Nobody sees your tears in the rain..or your cries through the thunder...the storm will end and the sun will shine again.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why they call it the present.
God is still writing your story. Quit trying to steal the pen. Trust the author.![]()

@Lindsays Grandma 😂😂😂😂😂😂 You must have known that I needed a good laugh this morning! Movie star??😂😂😂 I was actually gazing at a heart shaped wall hanging that always captures my attention. My friend was filming from the seat beneath it.😊
Pics of some of the beautiful artwork at the cafe.
You are my favorite poster, so I have no issues answering such an honest query regarding my coiffe.😄 I have thinning curly hair and age has declared war against my hair follicles😁, so indeed, I sometimes wear wigs or hair pieces to achieve the look that I favor most; length and fullness!😊
Thank you for posting these pertinent knowledge nuggets!😄 I really miss the joy they brought to the forums, and can especially relate to the last one. I LOVE the story "he" has written for me, and will enjoy reading it, until the day my story ends.🥰 What a fascinating read it will have been.😊
Take great care.❤

I would venture to say there are many posters on these forums who have problem hair. Too fine, thin, too straight, too kinky, etc., etc. I was very fortunate to have excellent hair stylists who would do my hair that stayed beautiful for a whole week. And as I mentioned, I spent a great deal of money over the years to look gorgeous. Was it worth it? You bet it was!!!!!
My sister on the other hand had thick wavy hair that never needed anything but shampooing, period. Boy, was I ever jealous of her, she got our father's thick wavy hair. Those were the days when we set our hair with bobby pins and my father used to say to me..."I wouldn't recognize you without all that hardware on your head." Memories, what would we do without all the memories we have.![]()
Thank you for the lovely pictures of the works of art. I appreciate the beautiful things talented people share with us.
So my dear friend, when do you anticipate returning to the states? Unfortunately, our world is in a state of uncertainty and more than likely will be for a long time to come. Since we have no choice but to make the best of it I am going to attempt to keep a positive attitude, it won't be easy but who said life is?
Take care my friend, I look forward to hearing from you, as always.![]()

@Lindsays Grandma I arrived in the Sates Wednesday, and could not help but sleep yesterday due to jet lag; of which I am still recovering. My layover was in Seattle, so I decided to visit with my family again for a week before heading back to Colorado. The arrival and departure areas at the airport were SO chaotic, that I am NOT looking forward to my upcoming flight.😐 As you know, I LOVE Washington!🥰
It was by far, my most fun-filled trip to Costa Rica to date! The others just do not compare.😊
Unfortunately dear friend, you are absolutely right regarding the state of our world; particularly that of our beloved country! I believe it to be the most adverse set of circumstances in succession we have ever faced; at least in my lifetime.😐
COVID, the record-breaking fires; to include the recent western fires; unemployment, civil unrest, mass shootings, etc... It is no wonder our nation is facing a serious mental health crisis, but all we can do is HOPE and PRAY for better days ahead.🤞🙏 I remain as optimistic as I can, and try to support others whose sufferings are far greater than my own.(sigh)
I received sad news early this morning regarding the health of my DSIL, so my mood has been melancholy throughout the day.😢 She is such a good person who now faces a dire road ahead.(heavy sigh)😐
I too, am facing another serious medical challenge, though not quite as serious as hers; at least not yet; and am hoping for a favorable prognosis after my diagnostic procedure next month.🤞🤞🙏 When it rains, it indeed pours.😞 It is for this reason I decided to schedule my holidays so close together; I needed the distraction!
As always, when I am feeling blue I tend to shop, but have not purchased a single item-YET; though HSN had a few august & leo goodies today during their CIJ sale, that held my attention. I resisted the compulsion, and was quite proud of myself.😄
I am truly HOPING all is WELL with you🤞, and am looking forward to your next update! Please give my warmest regards to Lindsay and Stacy, with a frisky pat on the head to Ms. Yuki.😁
Take great care.🤗❤

My dear Sandy, the first thing I did after reading your post was to pass on your warmest regards to Lindsay and Stacy. And of course I did not forget Yuki, she got an extra pat on her head from you.
I will keep you and your DSIL in my thoughts and prayers where your health is concerned. Let's all hope for the best for ourselves and loved ones.
What is so sad in the lives of so many, many people, are the frightful things that surround all of us. I am sure there were times in all of our lives that we faced fear for our lives in one form or another.. I don't recall ever having been as fearful as I am now, it isn't just the COVID, it is the number of people killing people with guns, it is relentless. I certainly believe people should have the right to own a weapon for their own protection, however, it has gone way beyond that but this is not the place to voice my thoughts on that issue so I will leave it at that.
I thought about you a lot while you were gone, always hoping you were enjoying your trip. There is just one thing that seems to get in the way and that is how fast the days seem to go by.
Let's talk about shopping...when I retired I gave up watching all of the home shopping networks so that I wouldn't be tempted to buy, buy, buy!!! I have to say I am very proud of myself because as many times as I would be tempted to watch a show, I didn't.
Every now and then when I go through my jewelry boxes I am so glad I didn't give into temptation because I have more jewelry then I will ever wear again. As for clothes, that's a different story since I purchased more jewelry than clothes but I still have a few items hanging in my closet.
Stacy and I were discussing where we would move to in the very near future and she totally took by surprise when she suggested the state of Vermont. I looked at her as though she were crazy and said, "VERMONT??"" When I composed myself from the shock I asked why she chose Vermont and and her answer was a simple, "It's beautiful there." Okay, she saw pictures and yes it is pretty but what about the rest of it?
I gave a lengthy rundown of all the reasons why, as far as I was concerned, we will not live in Vermont. The first reason is it SNOWS A LOT in Vermont and since I grew up in New York, when I moved to California I vowed I would never again live on the east coast, NEVER.
So, the next state is Colorado!!! When we stayed in Lakewood for about six months it snowed once, and two days after it snowed it was gone. It actually began to melt the very next day after it snowed, I can handle that!! It hasn't been decided if Lakewood is where we would live, there is going to be a great deal of consultation on that issue.
So my friend, I think I have taken up enough space so I'll close for now and look forward to hearing from you. You are either back in the states or will be shortly so unwind, rest, and then tell me all about your wonderful trip. ![]()
