@Sooner well that is true. They aren't distributed fairly at times. Also,, what about people in poorer areas? They don't get the schools, upkeep etc . Maybe that's why Beverly Hills has pink trash cans and scented trash can liners? lol true

I'm in the same boat. My fixed income more than ok until the last 20 months. Now I can not always afford prescriptions, groceries, etc.
The best thing I did was open a high yield savings account. I set up an automatic transfer on the last day of the month when I get my pension payment. It started small but has grown.
I swear by GoodRX. It pays for more of my medications than my insurance. I have a brain disease and those meds are expensive. Here are examples:
One went from $687 per month to $82 per month.
One went from from $75 per month to $25 a month. Another med went from $324 per month to $26.
I took a hard look at my life and just don't need all the things I used to. It was weird because it made me feel old since I wasn't doing all the things I did when I was young. But it turned out very well for me and is saving me a lot of money. I also went through my closets and donated so much to a women's shelter.

Can you not see how this post, if it is even true, is inappropriate on a thread discussing ways to cut costs in retirement?

Hi @smoochy . I haven't read any of the responses in this thread yet, but I'm curious to hear all the replies.
Just wanted to say that I think giving up the leased vehicle is a great idea. Spring will be here very soon and you will soon feel the relief.

Rest assured there is no one here that is jealous or envious of you.
