Family member is driving from Ohio to Bronx, NY for a meeting over the weekend. Any tips or tidbits?

Check out the Bronx Zoo if possible and be sure to stay clear of the Cross Bronx Expressway. Traffic nightmare.
Have a safe trip !

Morris Park Ave was a "Little Italy" when we lived there and had enchanting cafes where you could enjoy espresso and delicious pastries.....
The Bronx Zoo is amazing and there are some beautiful gardens in that area......
City Island has great sea food, and all the way towards the end on the left hand side is an inexpensive casual seafood place...... it's been awhile since I've been there-and I miss it!

Yankee Stadium (no tours til April) , Bronx Zoo, Botanical Garden . City Island. Nautical Museum. The Grand Concourse is the main drag, i don't have a clue what it is like now though.

I wonder if the Loew's Paradise is still on the Concourse. Of course, there was Alexanders. Ahhhh, memories....
RKO Chester at West Farms Square too.
Then there was the Loew's American in Parkchester.
It's all coming back to me

The Botanical Gardens are beautiful. Though not in the Bronx, the Cloisters Museum is a medieval monastery (originally built in France transported) full of haunting and and beautiful medieval art, It's across the Island from the Bronx on the other side, but just a little bit south.

I remember Arthur Avenue being "Little Italy". All the fruit and vegetable stores/stands were there and my friend's mom would take the trolley or bus to get there and then walk home with bags of fresh veggies....Butcher shops too....
We shopped at the A&P on Westchester Ave. There was a subway stop there too.

If you are talking this weekend, they are predicting unseasonably cold and possibly snow on Sunday. So, tell them to bundle up.
