Bronchitis etc.for Thanksgiving...

[ Edited ]

I am now more than glad I am not cooking a big dinner Thursday! I have bronchitis, ear infection, and a sinus infection! Happy Thanksgiving to me!

It all started last Friday evening and went downhill from there. Saw the Dr Monday and got anti-biotics, an inhaler, nose drops, mucinex, cough syrup.

I rested a day or so, then kept pushing through to do things since I had shots in my back that got rid of THAT pain.

Well, I cant win. Back doesn't hurt now,,,lol.. but I am still coughing terrible and I mean the second I lay down or do something. I cant even sleep. And my nose is RAW red from using tissues every few minutes.

Praying I am OK Thursday as DH and I go to eat out at a restaurant and watch the grandkids for my kids to shop all night to Friday!

Oh well if I cant go out or watch the kids, I cant. I already told my kids  I don't want to have the grandkids get sick too and they agree! But I wish this cough would clear up.

Dr swears its bronchitis, feels like pneumonia to me. You would think the antibiotics would work by now!

PS) I might add, I used to get this when I smoked years ago. Well I quit long ago, still got it!

Happy Thanksgiving and many blessings to all. (Sorry for whining, I am still thankful. At least I have a wonderful family, a home, food on the table etc and my back isn't in pain FOR NOW!  So trying to look on the bright side!...lol).

Re: Bronchitis etc.for Thanksgiving...

I am so very sorry that you are this ill, Shorty.

I do understand, and can sympathize with you. Been there, done that, too many times to count, both with bronchitis, and with pneumonia, and have been sick around all major holidays too, where I have been too ill to enjoy them. It stinks when you aren't able to enjoy them properly with your loved ones.

I am glad that you went to the doctor. I'm sure that you know that if you aren't feeling quite right and if you aren't feeling better but feel worse, that you should be talking to your doctor's office.

Take care of yourself, Shorty. ((Hugs)) to you.

Re: Bronchitis etc.for Thanksgiving...

We have all had those holidays when we have been miserably ill and it is a huge bummer. However, this too will pass. And there will be other Thanksgivings.

I have already been scheduled to work a major holiday and gotten sick and you can't call off on a holiday so you take some medicine and go to work anyway. Hopefully your co workers or the supervisor will realize how ill you are and take pity on you.

Shorty, I feel your pain.  Today is the first day in two weeks I have not coughed.  I will be well enough to go out tomorrow.

Stay down and baby yourself so you will be well for Christmas.

Hi Shorty2U,

Sorry to read this. Seems like you can't buy a break! I hope you get to feeling better real soon.

I ain't ever had Bronchitis, mine usually goes right to pneumonia, and both are the pits.

Our best to you,
