Re: Broadway actor Nick Cordero

So sad to hear the news!  He fought a good fight, but the damage to his lungs from the virus and ventilator was probably too much for him to overcome.  I hope that his family will not be charged for his medical bills since it was COVID and that his wife will use her voice to continue to educate all of us as to what can happen to anyone regardless of age or health.

I didnt know this.  I had been followinghis story, but was busy today.  My gut just wrenched for him and his wife .  She has just been such a wonderful advocate.    Yesterday when she said he would need a double lung transplant to live a meaningful life I just knew.  His body wa so ravaged from covid he couldnt take a surgery.  Such a talented, beautiful man , a life well lived.   I am truely sorry.  My heart goes out to his wife and family.  She has been through the wringer to say the least.

Re: Broadway actor Nick Cordero

I read that this morning and I felt just sick about it.  I have been following his story since the beginning (I had never heard of him before) and was always hoping for a positive outcome for him, but it always just got worse and worse.

His poor son and wife.  She seems like such a positive and upbeat person.  I can't even imagine the devastation.  She really believed he would get better and fought for him like heck.

I had never heard of him until he was sick and in the hospital. Then read those updates I would see on Yahoo news. Very sad after all he went through and how hard he was fighting, feel bad for his wife and baby! Smiley Sad

I have been following her on Instagram.... her updates... the ups and downs... What a strong brave wonderful Wife, Mother  Individual she is.

I must say  that although I know she wanted to do everything possible to save ner Husband and get him back, I really think they should have let nature take its course long ago naturally.... rather than putting Nick though the surgeries, and days of suffering through the debilitating virus ravaging his body.  My Husband and I had a talk about this and decided that we would never put one another thorough such suffering for so long only to die anyway.   It is too hard on the caretaker as well as the victim.

I think her fight for him became more for herself...losing him was so hard to think about she  quit thinking about Nick and what was really best for him... all out of great love for him...

So sad for his family.  Very sobering that he was so young.  Guess us oldies are not the only deaths.

@Sea Maiden. But he was only 41, had only lived half his life and had a little baby who needed his father so it was worth trying to give him another half of his life. They didn't know he would only die in the end anyway. That's what they were trying to prevent.

@SeaMaiden  I disagree.  She knew him better than anyone here.  She knew if/how much he loved life, if/how much he was willing to fight to live.  Nobody knew in advance what the outcome would be.

Age might be a factor too.  Good that you and your husband had that discussion for yourselves.  If the Corderos were your age, maybe  different decisions would have been made.

Re: Broadway actor Nick Cordero

Zach Braff, an actor and friend of Nick's said that the last text he got from Nick was Nick asking that he watch over his family. Zach Braff said that he will honor the request and that Nick's family will not lack for anything except of course the lack of a husband and father.
