This from Newsweek with news of this summer's predicted El Nino.  We in the Southwest haven't had a "normal" rainy monsoon season since 2006.  Here's what the Rio Grande at Albuquerque looks like right now.  Should be running high with snow melt but there was little snow.

Oh no that looks terrible!

So we're hopefully going to get actual rain this summer in New Mexico and Colorado?!

A wetseason for us all would be a game changer..

Certainly hoping for a great monsoon season in Northern Arizona.  Five years ago California was in an awful drought and now their reservoirs are full.  I hope the same is true for us within a couple years. We now have,to regularly water our yard and trees ( something we didn't ever do the first 17 years we lived here ( 4 seasons, many lakes and always snow in Winter and monsoons in Summer).

NOT good for Oregon. We had the worst snow season on record. Snowpack in many areas is already zero.

We had the coldest winter in a very long time. There were weeks w/ ice, too.

I'm planning for a very hot, uncomfortable summer since we've already broken records with 90s in May.

Good luck I hope you also get much needed rain in New Mexico......

Texas is already feeling the effects of El Nino, we've gotten much needed rain already, and more expected the end of this week.....San Antonio went from extreme drought to moderate already, and they said this is just a preview of the fall and winter here in Texas.....Looking forward to it.... 😁 ☔
