Bridal Shower-Ideas please!

My stepdaughter is engaged, and I am starting to plan a shower for her. I have quite a while, but I feel I need to get started with the planning asap. I would really appreciate any ideas or special things you have seen done at bridal showers. I plan on using a set of antique china that her father and I bought for her years ago to serve food on - she has never seen it. A friend suggested that I buy, or borrow, an old wedding dress to display or work into the decorations - not quite sure how to do that, but I did spot one at a flea market the other day for $25. Any really neat ideas that you have would be great. Thanks so much. I would really like to make this special for her.
