This case became famous mostly because Gabby was followed by thousands on social media. It was even reported on the Italian ( I was there at that time) and Australian news.

When they got engaged, Brian said ' til death do us part" . If her relatives heard what I heard on their engagement video, they could have checked on her during the trip more often. I wonder if she told friends and family about the police questioning them about the abuse.

Brian hit her in front of witnesses, that thankfully called the cops. That shows he was extremely  angry at her already.

I am sure he killed her ,probably because she wanted to leave him.

I hope his parents didn't know anything about Gaby missing. They were probably told she went somewhere else. Otherwise they waited ,hoping her body was so decomposed that nobody could find out she was killed .

I get stuck on the part that Gabby's parents, mother and father had called and text the Laurdries many, many times and they ignored the calls and texts. It boggles my mind that he arrived in Florida without her and they didn't even think to answer one call or text from Gabby's parents. Only heaven knows what he said to them. UGH

Yes, Gabby DID get a lot of coverage because she was popular on social media. People were following her and Brian's travels. BTW, Brian hated that she did the blogs. He was ruining her self confidence. Real piece of work that guy.

Still don't see how they found a backpack and notebooks that were dry and able to be inspected..with writing that was legible, if the area where he was found had been under water the past several days or weeks....prob some things about this whole sad event that we may never know.

@bonnie f @Duckncover  There were 2 bags found. The "dry bag" had the notebooks but it appeared to have been breached. They are designed to be waterproof. This is the bag that his father found. The backpack was further down where his campsite and shelter were and his remains were found.

There was something very wrong with Brian.   Something so bad that he murdered another human being. This is a tragic story for everyone involved. Murder is murder.  Brian was a murderer.  He probably (like Scott Peterson) would have gotten a life sentence and rightfully so.

true he is "technically" innocent.. but my opinion is he should of never got away.. i know he was "innocent" but she was missing and they should of questioned him....... but it was too late.. if im correct, he was gone before they realized she was actually dead?  its a sad story... would of been interesting to of had them take him in and question him... to hear him stutter and give his side of the story... we'll never know...

They could have taken him in, but in our country he has a legal right to refuse to answer their questions and once he requests an attorney, they have to stop questioning him entirely.

He may have killed her, but there are other scenarios. She posted both photos of herself and her location. The sort of thing that attracts stockers.

@occasionalrain  Yeah well there is philosophy and there is reality.
