Enjoyed the discussion about the Keurig. Was in Costco and the woman giving out coffee was not able to answer my questions.

Years ago before Mr. Coffee my parents always made coffee on the stove--that was perked. DH remembers his parents doing the same thing. My Mom and her sisters were very competitive and the first to have a Mr. Coffee had a lot of status.

For several years my folks made instant. Then got an automatic maker.

My big question for the Costco lady was if you made other things (cider, tea, etc) did it taste like coffee? She called me "Honey" and told me I was nor cleaning my coffee pot.

I was impressed how quickly it made a cup of coffee (did not brew or perk it),but we like to have our coffee together in the AM. I still may buy one just for cider.

You can buy a reuseable filter so the little cups do not go in the landfill.
