I normally have breakfast for lunch every Sunday.  It's either an omelette w/ toast or scrambled eggs, turkey bacon & toast.

omg, you had me at huevos ranchero!!!  It is one of my favorite dishes, but....it has to authentic.  There are only a couple of dive places that serves it to my taste!  Gently fried egg simmered in salsa, served with frijoles refrito, and homemade flour torts!  The beans have melted queso on them.

I ordered this dish 20 years ago in a chain mexican restaurant.  They served a fried egg on a corn tortilla with a dot of salsa on top, from a jar i am sure.  That was it.  I nearly cried.  Sent it back, ordered something else.

I've never had bad huevos rancheros in restaurants!  Have made my home based version as variations on what I've been served.  I love it when my tomatos ripen and I can make a fresh salsa

We love breakfast sandwiches.  I toast english muffins Rudys organic). I fry up some organic turkey bacon, it is chemical free, i have slivered slices of redonion, arugala, sliced tomato with smashed avacdo on one side to glue it together, lol,  sometimes I crumble goat cheese but this thing is so big and rich I am okay.

by the way, I dont know if anyone has tried Wellshire nitrate free, chemical free, organic turkey bacon but this stuff is good.  It is like 30 calories a slice, and almost zero fat, 0 sugar.  I buy it cooked.  Sometimes in a hurry i eat it cold, but if you warm it in a pan it becomes crisp.  You can get it really crisp for crumbles if you want.  It is about 6.95 a pkg at WF.  Not cheap, but well worth it.  Lasts a long time.  Sometimes I grab a lettuce leaf, slice onion, turkey bacon and some tomato...wrap it in a paper towel and run out the door.

ETA

the paper towel is not edible...but I might have bit off a piece in a frenzy!  Lol😚

Not really for me.  If I'm going to fry eggs, bacon, make French toast, pancakes, etc., I might as well broil a steak, steam some veggies and make a baked potato in the microwave.  I enjoy eating breakfast out, but I'd rather eat something more traditional for dinner than go through the same anount of energy to make a meal that only really interests me in the morning.

I would love to do it and I have when DH would go out of town, sometimes I would just have cheese and crackers and a glass of wine for dinner.  DH is retired now, so I cook most nights.  Luckily he cleans up.  He's going out next week with friends for dinner, so I'm looking forward to not having him home for dinner and mayble I have breakfast for dinner, or cheese and crackers with a glass of wine!!!

@Hayfield, your post reminded me -

At the weekend I happened upon a French restaurant and had paté, cheese and French bread, along with a mimosa, for lunch. I felt so civilized! ;-)

@Moonchilde--I'm soo jealous!  That sounds heavenly!!!

Breakfast for dinner is very popular in this house; my husband and I enjoy it at least once a week.   Our favorites are biscuits and gravy, or sausage and French toast.

My food allergies and sensitivities make it impossible for me to enjoy these breakfast foods in the morning, but I am able to eat them later in the day once I have consumed other foods that act as a buffer.

Poached eggs with creamed spinach.  Also, like to layer an English muffin with Guacamole, egg whites, and spinach.  Sounds awful, but I find it quite tasty.

Absolutely breakfast for dinner!!  Reading the posts has me thinking of doing so today since we've been at the hospital all morning and I'm too tired to cook.

It's also too hot.  Last week with heat index over 100 I roasted a chicken in the oven.

What the heck was I thinking???????   LOL
