The whole fat is bad is based on false information that was perpetuated by the sugar industry to implicate fat instead of sugar as the source of heath problems. The facts came out quite awhile ago and the old research has been proven false but some people still repeat the old lies anyway.

100% whole grain organic bread for me and dont plan on eliminating it from my diet. I too like a piece of toast with 100% pure peanut butter (i.e. Nothing but peanuts-no added salt or sugar, etc) or almond butter first thing in the morning.  Sometimes with some sliced banana on it too. I used to eat rice cakes on occasion when I was younger but not anymore.

LOL @HappyDaze  Don't take away my PT/BT toast for anything!..I would never give up bread, (especially in the morning)...people have eaten bread forever, just don't eat it 3x a day & a bedtime snack!...

I don't eat traditional bread.  It is my Achilles heel to carb-binging.  Instead, if I want bread, I make my own version of no carb out of almond meal, ground flax seed and perhaps a little coconut flour.  Even that bread I have not eaten in a few weeks as I am rigidly dieting for summer that will be here before we know it!

It is amazing how a pair of pants can go from tight to fitting just fine in two weeks when I am aware and in control of everything I put in my mouth. Have I felt hungry the last couple week--yes.  But it is so worth it!

I like bread.   I can pretty much be without it, but every now and then I want either toast or some sort of sandwich.

I buy an organic, whole grain bread that has seeds in it.   I can't eat it too much because of my esophagus condition.

But i mostly get that for the little birdies outside.  They LOVE it.   Every day I brunois a couple of slices of that bread and put it out for them on this station I made up on top of the hot tub.  Some of it goes under this snow shovel that lays atop the tarp, so that only the little bitty birdies can get it.  They go under ther because they know I'll always put some seeds and bread under there just for them, so the bigger birdies don't get it all.

@jaxs momEvery single cardiologist I have seen since June of last year after my heart attack has told me EXACTLY the same thing. It's a myth that it is the fat and now studies have proved that it is sugar and the inflammation it causes that causes most cardiovascular disease.

I don't think I "love" bread more than the average person. I eat sprouted whole grain wheat when I have that choice, for toast, sandwiches, etc. I try for high fiber breads to lower the carb effect.

I enjoy bagels, English muffins, scones, naan and other breads but eat them much less now, and "light" versions and smaller portions, as I'm diabetic. I don't believe in "never ever" having a food, I just don't have things as routinely as I used to.

Hi Moonchilde!  Cool avatar.

One favorite of mine, that I haven't had in years (need to fix that!), is a nice rye bread, made into toast, with butter and apricot jam.  Sooooo good!  Smiley Happy

Hi @chickenbutt, thanks! Thought I'd switch things up a little.

My mom would have liked your choice. She loved rye bread/toast and always preferred apricot, marmalade, etc - the non-sweet ones.

I like English muffin bread for toast, but don't see it often in the store. I could mail order it, but I don't.

I love sprouted wheat bread too. Although I love rye bread, most commerical rye breads have a high proportion of white flour in them and use caramel color to get the darker look.

For me, as a Diabetic, I can eat bread as long as it is Multi-grain (no white flour).  The best bread I have ever found was Milton's Multi-grain, used to be available everywhere and now I can't find it at all.... but I have to watch how many carbs I have.

I also love a piece of toasted multi-grain bread with peanut butter....
