That's awesome.
A friend of mine was running in this today. So proud of her.

I know someone who ran today and I just can't imagine it in this weather.

Now don't cut my head off ladies! I too congratulate her for winning, and being the 1st American to do so in 30 years. Just so those that do follow marathon racing, I want to clarify this.
Des Linden won the Womans 2018 Boston Marathon Race. Her time was 2:39:53.
The winner of the 2018 Mens Boston Marathon Race was Yuki Kawauchi of Japan. His time to run was 2:15:53 over that 26.2 mile race.
Just to be fair, ya know? As one that has ran 2 of these 26.2 mile races, every single participant to me is A Winner, and I would be surprised if any of them do not feel like a Winner, and congratulations go out to all of you.

She also waited for Shalane Flanagan when Shalane had to use a porta potty. That's just a cool move.

How about Sarah Sellers from the US, who finished second. Only her SECOND marathon ever.
