What a 24 hours!
At about a quarter past midnight last night, I was woken from sleep by some idiot shooting off illegal fireworks a couple of blocks over.
Police were called, although not by me. There is a local "Police Blotter" on line that lists calls made for police, fire, medical, that tells the time of the call, and where and for what.
Then when I got home from work, the neighbors across the alley behind me had their "music" (and I use that word loosely) going, and it had the heavy base. You know the kind, where it rattles your windows, and makes the fillings in your teeth dance.
I got ready to make my mom's Blue Cheese - Garlic dip.
It is ridiculously easy to make. It only has four ingredients.
Blue Cheese
Cottage Cheese
Cream Cheese
Fresh minced garlic.
As I was peeling the cloves, my next door neighbor started to rev his motorcycle.
I yelled to no one in particular, "What is this? A noise contest?! Because if it is, I can make noise too! I still have my mother's trumpet, and I may not know how to play it, but I do know how to make noise on it!"
Eventually, the heavy base was turned off, but now it's back, albeit, at a lower volume.
I'm just glad that my dad wasn't around to hear the heavy base thumping, because that would have set him off, and I don't know if anyone here has had experience with trying to calm down an upset/agitated Altzheimer's patient, but it isn't fun, and it isn't easy.
So, hopefully soon they'll stop the noise altogether.

@Anonymous032819 I am so sorry. Maybe after the ballgame things will quiet down. Noise pollution is a terrible thing.

I was told if noise is above 80 decibels and cops are called they have a machine that measures how high it is and they will be given a warning first, then, if have to come out again will be arrested for public disturbance.
I called the law on my neighbor for revving and blowing out his engine for hours on end.
He don't do it any more.

No, they were already there when my dad and I moved in in October of 2018.

My friend’s son was pulled over when he had his radio turned up too loud while at a redlight next to a police car. Would you not be smart enough to turn the dang thing down then? He wasn’t.🙄
At least if a passing car is too loud you can drive away from it, but neighbors are 24/7. Have you ever had terrible neighbors? What’s the worst?

Ugh I feel for you. Heavy base is the one thing that really sends me over the egde. I have a neighbor who constantly sits in his car in the parking lot with the radio blasting. Once it gets warm and happens on a regular basis again I'm going to have to complain to the office.

I'm lucky we don't have any teens around us. I'm in an expensive enough neighborhood lots of folks can't afford to pay the taxes, so, that helps a lot.
This fellow is like 30, old enough not to act like a teenager. I suspect he's a spoiled brat and like most of them today has this self entitlement issue.
I feel bad for the folks who live who have no recourse that are decent themselves, but, have to live around people who don't have the same sense
of how to act in civilization.
Anyway, he had a visit from 2 cops and now has settled down.
Course, summer is coming on who knows he may have short memory and
try to get out the ol' corvette and waste gas just sitting there with foot on the gas and blowing out the tailpipe.
