Whew! what a morning.
Whatever's going on with him, his weight is part of it. The vet told us to gradually curtail the self-feeding and that will get him down to a pound or two less and if we do it right--gradually--it might take up to a year. Three years ago he weighed in at 12 lbs.; now he's OVER 15. So it's crucial to get his weight down.
In face, we might end up getting him x-rayed because he's so fat the vet couldn't feel his liver, bladder, etc. His large white, soft underside is so sweet and pretty but it's got to go.
She took a full raft of blood tests and we'll get the results tomorrow.
She also reminded us that Boo hadsfood allergies that we'd completely forgotton about: beef, rice, catfish, and wheat. I was shocked; I'd completely forgotten. I'm hoping that removing these food from his diet will help him feel better and stop upchucking (as far as I know, he's never eaten catfish). I feel like a terrible cat-mom.
Her visit with us was delayed because she had to perform a euthenasia (she told us). How do vets do that? I'd be so upset that I wouldn't be able to concentrate but she was completely calm and collected. Bless her heart...
